Setting My Financial Goals 2020

Before I go on discussing the investments that I have taken and about to take, it is important to set my short term and long term financial goals. The financial goals I am setting for myself are ambitious but at the same time realistic.

It is important that I set a date to the goals I am aiming for. Such as:

• short-term (2 years or less) 
• medium-term (3 to 5 years) 
• long-term (6 years or more)

Also, my investment profile has the following parameters:

• I’m not old, but I’m not young either so I need to weigh things towards the low-to-medium risk part of the spectrum.
• I want to get rich slowly, but not too slowly.
• I want the freedom to have fun and make mistakes with some portion of my portfolio.

In this blog I will chronicle the milestone and compare them with the financial goals that I have set for myself. This will help my analyze whether I am going the right direction, taking the right steps or if I am making mistakes.

Introduction and Reasons - My Investment Journey

Warren Buffett once said "I always knew I was going to be rich. I don't think I ever doubted it for a minute," and same as Mr. Buffett I have always believed this for myself as well. 

While my current day job as a lawyer pays well enough, I need to learn how to invest my savings and build a strong passive income portfolio. Warren Buffet also said “If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.” 

 Join me as I learn to invest wisely with the hopes of reaching my financial goals. I decided to make my journey public to encourage me to keep putting in the work. To help motivate me to track my progress, my investing struggles, the ups and downs. 

I will be writing about the investments that I will make, articles that help me decide, updates on my progress, opinions about the events that affect the market, and platforms that I will use to invest.
